I want to help build systems that work for people and center meaningful human relationships
Services
We can start with a free consultation about the problem, opportunity or conversation in front of you, what is happening around it and who may need to be involved. From there, we can think together about what kind of support would be useful and where to begin.
Bring the right people into the work—and create the conditions for their participation to matter.
I design participatory processes that help organizations understand different perspectives, strengthen important relationships and make better-informed decisions.
Engagement should do more than gather feedback. It should give people a meaningful role in shaping the work and create a stronger foundation for what happens next.
I can support your team when:
A decision, strategy, policy or service needs to reflect the people it affects
Staff, communities, clients or partners need to find shared direction
Different experiences, priorities or tensions need to be explored and understood
Previous engagement generated information but little visible action
Support may include:
Engagement strategy and process design
Discovery interviews and relationship mapping
Community dialogues, focus groups and roundtables
Collaborative design workshops
Analysis and synthesis of what was heard
Recommendations, feedback loops and continued-collaboration planning
Practice Example
Building collaborative responses to the toxic drug crisis
As project manager for Local Leadership United, I helped design and deliver a provincial engagement initiative connecting local governments with health authorities, community organizations and people with lived and living experience of substance use. Twenty-seven full-day dialogues involving more than 60 local governments strengthened relationships, developed shared understanding and helped local leaders identify their role in community overdose response.
Give important conversations the structure they need to move forward.
I design and facilitate focused sessions that help people work through complexity, learn from different perspectives and develop shared direction.
A well-facilitated session should do more than generate discussion. It should strengthen understanding, clarify what matters and help participants identify what needs to happen next.
I can support your team when:
A team or partnership needs to establish shared priorities
Different perspectives or tensions are preventing progress
An important decision requires thoughtful participation
A group needs focused time to develop a strategy or plan
Support may include:
Discovery and session design
Strategic planning workshops and retreats
Team alignment and priority-setting sessions
Collaborative decision-making
Facilitation of difficult or sensitive conversations
Concise documentation, synthesis and recommendations
Practice Example
Facilitating learning around complex social issues
I have designed and facilitated hundreds of participatory sessions related to substance use, community safety, health equity, Indigenous cultural safety, reconciliation, gender and sexual diversity, and other critical topics. These sessions use adult-learning principles, trauma-informed practice and participatory facilitation techniques to help people explore complexity, develop shared language and consider how new learning applies to their work and relationships.
Turn collective insight into direction people can act on.
I help organizations develop strategies, policies and accountability structures that reflect their values, respond to real-world conditions and provide practical direction.
A strong strategy or policy should be more than a polished document. The people responsible for carrying it forward should understand it, see themselves in it and have the relationships and resources required to put it into practice.
I can support your team when:
An organization needs to establish or refresh its priorities
Values and commitments need to be translated into everyday practice
Engagement findings or research need to become clear recommendations
Roles, decision-making or accountability need greater clarity
Support may include:
Collaborative strategic planning
Strategy or policy development and review
Research and environmental scans
Priority, outcome and implementation planning
Decision-making and accountability structures
Clear reports, policies and practical tools
Practice Example
Translating provincial engagement into policy recommendations
As project manager for Local Leadership United, I synthesized learning from engagement with more than 60 local governments, over 50 community and health organizations and people with lived and living experience of substance use. The resulting interim report identified barriers to collaboration, clarified local-government roles and offered recommendations for strengthening whole-community overdose response across British Columbia.
Help people understand complex ideas and use them in practice.
I design curriculum, learning experiences and knowledge-sharing tools that make complex information accessible, relevant and actionable.
Effective learning is not simply about presenting information. It should connect new ideas to what people already know, create opportunities for reflection and give learners practical ways to apply their understanding.
I can support your team when:
Complex knowledge needs to become accessible to a particular audience
Staff or partners need shared language and practical skills
Existing curriculum needs to be adapted or strengthened
Research or engagement findings need to become a useful resource
Support may include:
Learning needs assessments and discovery
Curriculum and program design
Participatory workshops and activities
Facilitator guides and train-the-trainer resources
Reports, toolkits and public-facing guides
Knowledge synthesis and accessible writing
When a project requires cultural or subject-matter expertise beyond my own, I work collaboratively with clients, knowledge holders and content experts who are appropriately positioned to guide the work.
Practice Example
Collaborating to translate lived, professional and cultural knowledge into practical guidance
Working collaboratively with Knowledge Keepers, Elders, people with lived experience and content experts at Len Pierre Consulting, I have led the development of practical resources in areas of culturally safer practice. My role is to translate complex knowledge into accessible language and connect foundational ideas with guiding principles, reflection questions and practical examples, while keeping the people who hold the knowledge at the centre.
